This Thursday 24 April, CampeoneX arrived in Colombian cinemas — the acclaimed film directed by Spain's Javier Fesser, which has won over both critics and audiences in Spain. With more than 21 million euros taken at the Spanish box office and 16 nominations at the 38th edition of the prestigious Goya Awards, CampeoneX has established itself as a masterpiece celebrating diversity, freedom, camaraderie and friendship, while leaving us with a profound message about inclusion.

CampeoneX secured two Goya Award nominations, in the Best Sound and Best New Actor categories, in recognition of the quality of its production and the talent of its cast. In Colombia, the film promises to make a significant impact, not only as a box office success but also as a symbol of social inclusion.

Thanks to a strategic partnership with the distributor Distrito Pacífico, 10% of box office profits in Colombia will go to three leading foundations working on the inclusion of people with disabilities. These organisations — Fundación Asodisvalle in Cali, Fundación Mónica Uribe Por Amor in Medellín and CIREC Foundation in Bogotá — run valuable projects together with Rotary clubs across the country, promoting the integration of people with disabilities into Colombian society.

Inclusive cinema is in Colombia to stay

Organisations such as CIREC Foundation, a pioneer in creating inclusive spaces in Colombia, have been running WeCamFest since 2020 — the country's most important international festival of inclusive and accessible cinema, which has had a transformative impact on the audiovisual industry since it began.

WeCamFest has brought together more than 15,000 viewers—both in person and online—showing how cinema can be a powerful tool for social inclusion. The event has trained more than 200 people with disabilities in audiovisual skills, empowering them to produce and create their own content. The Festival has also been the setting for the creation of three audiovisual productions made by people with disabilities, and has opened four international windows in the United States, Peru, Chile and Spain, carrying the message of inclusion and accessibility far beyond Colombia's borders.

From 24 April, the film will be showing at various cinema chains, including Cinema Procinal, Cine Colombia, Viziona Cines and other venues across the country. Remember that every ticket purchased supports the inclusion of people with disabilities.
