Access to Health
in Rural Colombia
Together with our partners, we design health and comprehensive physical rehabilitation projects so that people with disabilities can receive specialised, timely treatment.
Our Social Sustainability
strands of work
We align with the Social Sustainability strategy of CSR departments, seeking to transform access to health in their areas of interest so that specialised, high-complexity comprehensive rehabilitation treatment reaches populations that are vulnerable in terms of health, geographical location and economic circumstances, through the PETIT CIREC Hubs and the Rehabilitation Brigades in rural Colombia.
PETIT CIREC Hubs:
We aim to achieve our goal of access to comprehensive physical rehabilitation for people with disabilities, in partnership with the private sector.
Our major goal is to build 10 PETIT CIREC Hubs, each covering 130 to 200 square metres, to provide priority care for babies and children in departments with high rates of disability and poverty and limited access to high-complexity rehabilitation services.
The priority departments are:
With this physical infrastructure we aim to connect our High-Complexity Centre with the PETIT CIREC Nodes through telemedicine and telerehabilitation services, transferring our scientific knowledge to the regions and guaranteeing access to comprehensive rehabilitation in rural Colombia.
In partnership with local authorities (municipal and departmental governments), donors and CIREC's own resources, we will build physical spaces for comprehensive rehabilitation, equipped with the technology needed to guarantee high-quality care.
*Note: our facilities will also be able to care for adults.
Rehabilitation brigades
